pilot housing unit, designed for N.T.U.A. in collaboration with architects Kimon Aggelopoulos & Sofia Kondylia

This pilot apartment building, designed within a larger urban scheme, contains 15 apartments and a retail unit (ground floor level). The apartment sizes vary from 45sqm (basic grid unit area) to 120sqm. In order to meet our main objectives, namely, the creation of a collective ambience with respect to the individual and his/her private needs, as well as the provision of apartments within a reasonable cost, we designed a unit rigid in form yet flexible in function. The simple and conventional structural grid allowed us to reach “luxury” not through expensive materials and equipment, but through design: all apartments have highly comfortable living areas and large terraces.
